Hi there!

I just had my floors refinished (new home, yay!). I went from traditionaly poly to water based. The company did two patches for me (bad old patch had lots of cracks between the boards) and one patch looks awesome, but another looks bad. You can see the difference here. The installer is saying this is bc the wood is new, that it is white oak not red, and that its bc the old wood is just probably from a different section if the country. Is that right?

Am I being too picky?

also: in one room theres a big stain. I wish theyd called to let me know about the stain instead of just putting the poly on so I could see if there was another option to make it look good, but this bothers me less.

Too bad because the other patch they did and the other rooms look A+!!

Should I put up a stink or just let it go?
