Need help picking a backsplash

We have done a full kitchen reno and we are almost done but can’t settle on a backsplash. The kitchen is very white (which I wanted) and had originally planned on a white backsplash, but now I’m wondering if I should pull some color or contrast to the backsplash? Even a grey or something light?

IMHO backsplash should be a background and shouldn't call attention to itself. So, would suggest a plain tile (probably subway) for your kitchen. Will comment also that your island countertop looks very yellow. Does it match the rest of the countertops or is it a different color/material?

I think it’s just the lighting from that angle. It’s a bright white.

I agree with Patricia. I love a subtle pop of backsplash and find the Waterworks handmade crackle tile in Ice Water is a beautiful hued blue/grey and so subtle.

I would put colour on the walls instead of backsplash and repaint when you tire of the colour

There are so many different directions you can go in, I can see why you're having trouble deciding. So I don't know if it will help if I give you some more inspiration pictures. You will get lots of opinions here, but it's your kitchen, so take your time deciding. You can use your kitchen without a backsplash. It looks great so far and any one of these options or things suggested above will work.

Lovely kitchen. If you haven't already done, expand your ideas by looking at inspiration kitchens and save your favourites. Go back a day later/edit and you’ll see a trend. Then bring home a box of ones you narrowed down to (that can be returned) so you get a truer sense visually. My thoughts are to pull in the island and believe plain, white subway/grout will be boring/not warm enough.

Decide on shape, shade(s) and grout

Herbflavor that’s very similar to what I think we finally settled on! Thank you for confirming the white would be ok!

Adding subtle splash of color and then carrying over similar shades to adjacent spaces in pillows, accessories, artwork (while still keeping things neutral) help to create a cohesive and aesthetic design. Congratulations on your new beautiful kitchen by the way!! 😊
