help with front yard

We recently moved into a home which needs an exterior overhaul. Given the amount of work this house needs, I likely will be keeping these front stairs and painting them in the future. I am looking for ideas for this small strip below the stairs. Curious if anyone has ideas for structural additions (short walls for definition) or if you would just use landscaping to make it more aesthetically pleasing. I plan to change color, windows and garage and am seeking ideas for the rectangular area below stairs. It is hard to capture the space so I included photos from a few angles.
