I have had taller specimens in the past but I am just grateful that the reseeding continues to be successful.

I surely do.Rouge. Pleased to see it regenerating well for you as these monocarpic ones can be tricky. After years of fail, I finally have a nice collection of umbellifers which reliably self seed...but O, this summer has been brutal. Most of mine get going fairly early in the year but the angelicas are such welcome July/August bloomers. I am going to have an eryngium revival this year, along with echinops and scabious, if I can poke them into the meadow area somewhere. Tricky, since I cut the meadow before a lot of the perennials such as sanguisorba get going, but it's in the nature of gardening, that we can't have everything we want.

(Although both my white and lavender were less than stellar performers this season :( )
