It depends on the color of the floor.

They both work well.

I think my preference is for the first one as well.

.. and yes if you could share the color of the floor that might sway a vote.

I like #2, and I don't think the floor color is "unfortunate." It's wood, which adds a nice organic look and warms up the area.

#2, as it works best with your parquet flooring. Both work, though :)

#2 here, I find the beauty in dark furniture and this has the right proportions and colors.

Rugs look very different when on a floor. I vote for #1 or one of these below from Rugs-Direct.com

I can't believe you're considering a Ruggable which is printed fabric to a wool kilim rug!! One is $$$$ and the other is $$.

Order a small version of the rug to check colors before you order a full size one. Then return the small one. Much easier to return a small rug!

If you are thinking of a kilim rug, I also have to suggest seeking out authentic ones. They are going to be less expensive than an authentic Turkish. They are handmade and vegetable dyed and I just don’t think machine made rugs can compare. My 2 cents :) I have a friend from Iran though who has the most gorgeous Persians ever and turned me into a bit of a rug snob :). You can buy direct on Etsy.

IMO all of them are BORING I love that little touch of peach so whay not look for a rug with that in it . I love Persian rugs something like this would be awesome

I love color too and agree with Patricia, but I know a lot of people like the monochromatic look. I have a peach rug in my living room from old new house — an oushak from the 50s. It was 600$ for a 7x10. True Turkish, Persian, and kilim rugs you can pass down to your children, grandchildren ;) what sets this rug apart is even if a rug is labeled “handmade”, they are often still using power looms. Also, the artisans were involved in the design of the rug — not a corporate office :) it was made in turkey by local artisans— not China or India :) a lot of people aren’t going to care about any of this but a little rug knowledge is good to have.

Yes! And oftentimes no one will have a rug exactly like yours :)

I have found relatively inexpensive semi antique Persian rugs from rugsource.com. I’m currently searching for a 9x12 Heriz, so I check their website frequently. Etsy has suppliers, too, but I’ve had less luck there.
