Computer goes off and lights come on when A/C comes on.

The clocks are ok but my automatic wi-fi lights come on and my computer shuts off when my a/c turns on. The compressor seem a little louder at times. The unit is branded "Air Force" and has an emmerson compressor 2.5 Ton I believe. It is a year old. Outside it has a box with a "pull fuse" but I see no start capacitor like my old unit had. With just a cheap fluke meter I can see no voltage drop at the house plugs when the compressor starts. Voltage at 118

Is your A/C Condenser equipped with a 'Soft Start Kit'?

I do not know if it does or not. I do not know what that is. I can tell you there is nothing between the power outlet pull fuse and the unit.....wired striaght into the a/c unit

Do you know with certainty that the install was properly permitted, the wiring done by an electrician with a contractor license and the AC install by an experienced and licensed HVAC person?

I'd call a licensed electrician and have them assess the situation. Something's wrong, this shouldn't happen.

What does "computer shuts off" mean exactly? Is this a laptop or a desktop computer? When it shuts off do you have press the power button to turn it back on or it is a matter of losing the WiFi connection? Do you see the lights dim when the AC first turns on?

If this is a momentary voltage spike, then your Fluke meter is not have the frequency response (fast enough) to show it.

I can't say I've ever heard of that brand. A google search turned up this and this system also includes options to control lighting via WiFi.

This manufacturer also make another product called Ezone --- this airforce product might be some newer rendition of this manual I found. Who installed it? If you are the original home owner you need to contact the installer.

So sounds like some glitch in the WiFi might be some how causing these issues.

MyPlace user manual. Manufactured in Australia. Are you in Australia?

Another thought is that AirForce is the name of your service provider or dealer. If this company is big some manufactures will badge units with the name of a particular dealer. (It's all about sell, sell, sell *usually*) This is only a guess because the link is airforce air conditioning dot com. dot au as in australia... good day mate! LOL.

No advice from me, but I had an immediate flash of Oliver Douglas. (Showing my age.)

Thanks everyone who replied. The computer is a desktop I keep on all the time and i do have to push the power button to turn it back on. I think I will get an electriction out to look at it. I am in the U.S. Indiana to be exact.
