• If you look at the Equipment Sizing Guidelines for both units, it's the same.
• If you look at the maximum airflow for the 4 ton unit in the MIN/MAX Airflow tables, you see it's exactly the same.
• Wouldn't you think that these values would help determine the duct sizing and they'd be the same for both models?

Note that the Bryant 288BNV is also sold as the Heil HVH8 and Comfortmaker CVH8 (among the many ICP brands) so you may get a better deal from one of those brand's dealers.

He's blowing smoke. Doesn't bode well for anything else he says or does.

Find a new installer.

Get your own manual J/S/D performed as well. Size accordingly.
