Have you looked on Help Me Find / Roses? They list a lot of nurseries which they say carry it, including in CA and Washington state. If HMF says a nursery carries it, but it is not on their web site, I have had good success just calling the nursery. Sometimes they do not list a rose unless they have a large quantity of them, and sometimes they will offer to root one for you. Also, are you sure that MH would like your growing conditions? Contact a local rose society and see if they know, or know of any members who grow it. The PNW is different than my conditions in the SF Bay Area in CA, but that rose HATES it here.

There is a drastic range of climates in the PNW. Here in North Idaho Madame Hardy seems to be in her element. I deep water her once in awhile , she basically gets neglected in my neighbor's yard, and still is glorious every Spring. It's sad her time in bloom is so brief.

I think Rogue Valley Roses carries it, but it may not be in stock. I might be mistaken but I think that Madame Hardy and Madame Plantier are very similar and I know Heirloom Roses has Madame Plantier in stock right now. Aimee Vibert also looks really similar to me in photos (I bought one from heirloom this year but it hasn't bloomed yet - it is growing very vigorously and has new buds on it though) and is a repeat-bloomer. I think RVR and High Country Roses might have those also.

Here in the middle-Willamette Valley, ’Mme. Hardy’ does reasonably well, but it does Blackspot fairly badly - at least at the start of the growing season.

I am roughly an hour south of Seattle and both are great here

Madame Hardy is great here and Greenmantle in California sells her.

Paul, it's really interesting to hear that your MH blackspots badly. As I'm in the same general area of Oregon, I would have thought we'd have similar results. My MH doesn't have a problem with blackspots, even after this cool and wet June when so many roses did. Microclimates really make a difference!

I also love MH.... it's the rose that started my love.

In the first year my Madame Hardy band got a little rust, possibly from the combination of too much shade and in line of a blast from the inground sprinklers. She's relocated now and disease free in a drier, sunnier spot.

Various vendors carry this rose but are currently out of stock. September tends to offer low availabilities when it comes to roses :-) Some of these same vendors have "wish lists' where you can be put on notification for when your rose comes back in stock, typically in late winter or early spring. You might want to delay your quest until fresh stock becomes available.

Greenmantle requires a phone call. Marissa is wonderful. All the OGRs I have gotten from her have done well.

As I mentioned, I have had the most success with phone calls, if a web site did not give me the results I wanted. It works!
