sounds great ... my toms took about 32 hours in my OLD [1990s] Ronco dehydrator. Remember to juggle the trays after about 18 hours. I also like to dehydrate tomato paste for powder ...

We do a fair amount of dehydrating, but not tomatoes. They take so long. We just can 'em, mostly as juice which can be concentrated to sauce as needed in winter when we want heat in the house anyway.

I have a Nesco for over 20 years. I still use it a few times a year. No problems at all.

My brother recently purchased that model of Nesco with the motor on the bottom. He ruined the fan/motor dehydrating tomatoes when the acidic juice got into it somehow.

I have a ~15 year old model Nesco with the fan/motor on top that I haven't had any problems with.

Dehydrated tomatoes can be easily ground into tomato powder and works well for many uses including as a thickener.

I dehydrated some tomatoes right after I got my dehydrator and they came out okay. I just snacked on them until they were gone. Let us know how they do.
