Obviously, flopsycat1, you live in bobcat territory. I'm on Cape Cod where the predator is the coyote.

During mating season in the spring that's when they can be vicious. They will go after any dog and cat, and lately humans. I don't walk the dog before sun is up or after sun goes down. They are gorgeous animals, though.

@judianna20 They are outside on the roof. Mama often puts them up high to keep them safe. We have coyotes too, predators that can easily grab a bobkitten.

flopsycat1, nature is beautiful and mean at the same time. I know it is survival of the fittest, but it breaks my heart when any animal dies. And when that pack of coyotes finds its prey and howls and howls...chills. My dear friend moved from the Cape to the mountain area in NC. Now she has bears on her deck in the morning. What?

Too cute! We have our fair share of bobcats, mountain lions, bears and coyotes in our neighborhood here in SoCal. I’ve never seen any babies napping in a skylight. This mountain lion was tranquilized by the Dept of Fish amd Game then released in the foothills.

Or this last year in Bradbury, CA about 6 miles from us. That girl was both stupid and extremely lucky! Her adrenaline must have really kicked in.😳

Yes, @chloebud, I’ve seen that amazing video. We’ve seen mountain lions here, but no bears. Will keep our eyes on the skylights.

Judianna apparently bobcats willbreed with house cats and my sisters house cat got out got pregnabt and produced a litter of bob cat crossed kittens . We got one she had the tufts in her ears the little sway belly and was a tabby in coloring awesome cat . The vet was actull the one who told us she was part bobcat. I love bobcats we have lots in the area in BC where we live often up in the trees pretty shy most of the time

Perhaps you have seen a bobcat in your neighborhood. Rest assured, bobcats do not attack people. In fact, bobcat attacks are virtually unknown; however, no one should ever attempt to touch or handle a wild bobcat or her kittens.

I think I will take my vets word thanks . BTW I read the article about not happening but where I live in BC we have had many instances of this happening .

Might wanna get a new vet, there are zero confirmed cross breeds. There are many confirmed attacks. I’d say ”Lynx ” can be slightly larger then the Bobcat also know as the red Lynx and Lynx-Rufus.

It is amazing how one year there is a wild animal and the next, and the next, it has disappeared. I Haven't seen (or smelled) a skunk, opossum or heard the Bob White call in years. Fox are thriving, as are the coyotes. The Baltimore Orioles just left to go south. Good thing as they raise my grocery bill high keeping them in grape jelly. So beautiful...they are worth it.

Of course we have thousands of seal and way too many Great Whites. Our beaches are often closed to swimmers, and helicopters fly all over the Cape spotting.
