There is a way to accomplish what you are trying to achieve, which is to isolate the trash can from the rest of the cabinet without removing the cabinet. A good finish carpenter should be able to figure out how, which will depend on the cabinet construction.

Get some pullouts for garbage bins there are lots to choose from . Rv-a-shlf make many go check them out . Ihave old ones from Ikea just went under my sink cabinet. I use one for recycling and one for trash since I eempty my trash daily I do not have aneed for a huge garbage can These i mention can be retro fitted to many diiferent sized cabinets I would only use the extra space for storage of stuff not used for food .Waht was it you wanted to store there ?

If I understand what you're saying, the end cabinet is a 2-door cabinet with no divider in the middle, correct? If that's the case, I'd get a carpenter to come in and put a divider in the center. Then you can install trash pull-out hardware for either one bin or two. Some of them have back-to-back bins in a single pull-out.
