Last week i had Opus engineered hardwood installed in the middle level of my home. The color was Naples. We chose a nail and glue assist instalation. After install we noticed several splintered edges throughout many of the boards. We did notice our installers were using a rubber mallet against the floor boards to get them into place.

The company offered to replace the floor but im scared it will happen again! Should I ask for a glue laydown this time? Will elininating the nail gun help protect the boards at install. We are pretty sure it was the rubber mallet but i want to be extta careful. im also nervous about damaging the sub floor and also wonder if now full glue would be better.

Has anyone seen this happen?!
