faux balcony copper flashing

Hello,

We recently built a new house. We have a faux balcony right above the main door of the house. The builder recommended putting a copper flashing on the balcony. The problem is the copper seems to be causing stains on the wall below the balcony everytime it rains. What can we do at this point to prevent further staining? We considered putting gutter right below the copper but not sure if it will ruin the look? Replace the flashing with some other material?
