Yes you certainly can build your house with clay or anything else you prefer.

Depends where you live. I doubt that a clay house will pass code in much of the U.S.

In the southwest American desert, certainly-- many centuries old examples there. In the Pacific norhwest or New England, probably ot so much.

I love the look of rammed earth houses! Unless you are supplying labor though they are quite expensive.

There are homes in the Southwest built frrom clay. The roof has to protect the walls from rain.

There have been documentories on PBS, I suspect U Tube too. There was a group of Native Americans who built a city out of clay.

I think rammed earth is very expensive to build, but they are beautiful. I went in one once on a home tour. It was a massive 10 million dollar new home, but the walls were showing giant cracks!
