Well that explains it. Genius water saver though, and space saver. Our bathroom has literally enough room for a toilet, so this the only solution really. I guess the next question is...anybody know Euro dealers that ship to the US?

You would not be able to install Euro spec plumbing fixtures in the US without a lot of custom made adapters. The piping is different.

There are tiny little sinks available at Ikea that can be used to achieved required clearances. The clearances can be shared. A 12" deep sink across from a toilet works, as long as there is the 21" of clear space between them. It is not very user friendly at those dimensions, but it would pass inspection.

That is not true I use lots of European fixtures and faucets no issue with the right plumber . I do agree that combo is awesome but does not meet code in NA too bad we have some codes thta are just not useful in some cases . Yiny bthrooms are the norm in Europe and so they come up with some great ideas.to save space and honestly I see no reason to not allow this .

@Patricia Colwell Consulting have you ever used anything like in the picture? If so, could you recommend a dealer?

I have not installed one in NA but the aprtmet we rent in Paris has one not quite as nice as that but the same idea. So functional in a tiny bathroom . I might be tempted to get one and put in a cabin where no inspector needs to come.

Never leak so get caught up with new ways to do stuff I import faucets from Germany often no big deal to fit and work no leaks

OP: Can anybody recommend a US dealer in stylish toilet/sink combos? We have one in our kitchen and we love the idea of it, but aesthetically it looks like a prison toilet. Looking for something like the photo below. I have found some in the UK, but they don't ship to the US. Is this a Euro thing?

@atananbaum I was just thinking the same thing as I don't understand how it would be comfortable for anyone who wasn't tall or had exceptionally long arms to use. How does a child use it.

I could see having to put up with it in a public bathroom just as I put up with ridiculously tiny toilet compartments but I can't imagine having this in my home.

I have seen tiny sinks and those make infinitely more ergonomic sense as at least one can stand in front of the sink without an obstacle.

@User i understand what you mean about building codes but our inspector didn’t say anything about it before we bought the house. should he have? also, i think it’s more ridiculous to ” abandon” a functional bathroom than find a way to work around it. Our house is old and 1.5 bath, so ditching the Half bath isn’t really a possibility.

In most areas stuff is grandfathered in so long as you don’t remodel the specific thing. I had to upgrade items when I remodeled but until then I didn’t have to conform to Code.

Even with sale of a home, only very specific stuff must be done like installing smoke detectors and I am in Los Angeles which has strict Code for remodeling and new builds.

@User I’d say it’s usable by adults only, imagine a sink where your tank is on a standard toilet. That’s the size. i have no issue using it. It’s just really odd And not very pretty

It's been a few years, but my brother put one in the childrens basement playroom area. A plain white toilet/sink combo. Frankly, it was awkward to use the sink and I don't know if the handwashing took place as hoped. I can't imagine something more involved like brushing ones teeth at that sink . Just a quick hand wash was a difficult reach for little hands. It seems like it was one of those 'green' eco friendly paths they took - some worked out, others didn't. I'm conscious of not wasting frivolously, but not quite that conscious...

The photo of the unit that seems clad in bamboo look tile appeared interesting.

What is the physical layout of the bath? Length? Width? Door location? IS there plumbing for a sink already installed?

I have a teensy bathroom only 39” x 45” and I bought a very small corner wall-mount sink. Just enough room to wash your hands!

They all look pretty European to me, but who knows! My concern would be washing hands with cold water. I could see the one piece toilet/sink unit working in a wet room very well, but still want hot water.

I agree with @elizabeth_eclectic that a small corner sink and narrow toilet should work. Otherwise, you’ll confuse your American guests.
