IMO there is no rule but to answer I need to see the room . This light seems to not provide much light for a room that size and to see the room will also tell me your style . Even if I do not use the overhead light all the time in my bedroom I still use it for when I clean , the room so for me that fixture would be use less, As fir the size of this one I would do the larger and at least make sure the bulbs are LED 4000K

Unfortunately, I'm out of town and don't have a picture of the room. There are two nightstands with lamps and a lamp on a small dresser. There is a large window with a half moon window above it. The style is modern glam. The smaller chandelier has three 60-watt chandelier bulbs and the larger one has five 60-watt chandelier bulbs.
