What type anchors are you using and how are you using them? If properly installed they should be dam near bomb proof.

I'm having a hard time figuring out how this post is relevant to compost. Maybe there's a composting toilet in this bathroom.

Cut the drywall, screw blocking into place, patch drywall, paint, and screw into blocking.

Might also consider getting a nice piece of wood to back the towel holder. Screw it into studs and then screw the towel holder into the wood backing.

I used what @3onthetree posted and it worked great. I had a toilet paper holder that wouldn't stay on no matter how much I tightened the set screw or replaced the plastic wall anchor. A guy on YouTube showed me how to install it 😁

You can purchase composite moldings in 1/2" X 3-1/2" at most home imp stores or lumber yards. Buy a length, cut it into appropriate lengths, then use toggle bolts and construction adhesive to attach it to the wall, covering the existing damage. When that part is complete, fasten the towel and paper holder to the composite molding.

When our kids were young, they used the hand rail as a braking mechanism to slow their descent as they hurtled headlong down the stairs; and of course they ended up pulling it out of the wall. This application happens to be at an angle, but the principle is the same. I adhered the oak trim board to the wall with countersunk screws and construction adhesive, then filled the screw holes and painted it the same color as the wall.The anchor screws are hidden behind the railing's mounting plate.
