Hi, no expert here, but I'm having my pool renovated as we speak, but our pool contractor really advised us not to have poured concrete coping due to the "hairline" cracks we would have. Concrete cracks. Period. He really wanted us to go with a different coping; however, I took the risk and did poured concrete and sure enough, we already have a very small crack. I still love the look. I wanted a modern, clean look, which I wouldn't have gotten otherwise on my "freeform" pool. Small sacrifice I made, but I love the overall look my pool and decking is taking and I wouldn't change it even if I could.

We are doing the same, and our pb also warned us about the potential cracks. I don't care for the look of flagstone coping so we're going to learn to love the cracks as they show up.
