--gallery up to edge of living area to set off the hallway--maybe just a few great oversized black and white photos on one side and a couple antique wood mirrors framed in wood like your door to reflect art across the way.

-- If you can move over your dining table and chairs in living space, the hall will become a great entry to light, window, open space. Try moving over all that stuff if you have space. It'll make a huge difference in how your space feels. Hallways are great transition places that pull people forward.

it's very narrow, shiplap or any kind of moulding will make it appear even smaller.

What are your interests or hobbies, take inspiration from something that means something to you personally, don't just fill the space wth someone elses style.

I like sailing, I might hang a sail.

Since art can be expensive, I will suggest using a calendar to get 12 pictures for a low cost, then frame them in standard sized frames. This also ensures the pictures are thematically related. Intersperse personal pictures and you could fill a large expanse. If you are more creative you can mix it up when creating a gallery wall.

The "hall" could end at the refrigerator wall. I just found lots of stencils that can be used to paint a pattern on concrete, simply by choosing your color and using a roller. Visually, having two different floor colors would do the trick.

that hall-looks too narrow to encourage people to stop….with little space for a second person to pass…i would go with a big graphic to draw the eye and the traffic to the main rooms in an interesting way
