Are you doing a complete remodel (replacing everything), or trying to keep some of the old cabinets? In order to get good advice on a kitchen remodel you need to post a floorplan (preferably on graph paper so people can determine dimensions) that shows as built with doors and windows indicated. It also help to show adjacent rooms, or at least indicate which rooms the doors open into so people can determine whether doorways can be moved or walls removed.

When we remodeled our kitchen, we got a little Whirlpool corner MW. It has a rounded back, and controls on the bottom, so it doesn't take up nearly as much room as your current one.

I like the look of a MW in a cabinet next to the fridge--built-in or on an open shelf. Be sure to check the specs on clearances if choosing the latter.
