just looking...without even being in the space I would spend and get ceiling can lights throughout. do a zone plan ..get dimmers ...then paint the ceiling and change the wall color above the 3/4 b and b. [too gray] dont see the ship lap in kitchen. the molding question would be after the ceiling looks better and lighting is improved. WAY TOO DARK everywhere. this is a key infrastructure improvement and your home is not up to date in this regard. . trim is last.

I would put those crowns above the doors and windows and then the cabinets and see what you think. There is not a lot of room there so the crown you are looking at may be too big.

I don't think it is needed. Let the trim at doors and windows be the star. There is barely room for any trim above them anyway.

Not needed or even desired. The window trim is so close to ceiling as well as the cased door opening leading out of the kitchen that adding crown is going to end up looking cluttered. The molding over the fireplace mantel that dies into the ceiling will make for a messy transition, too.

Crown molding and a coffered ceiling will only make your ceilings feel lower.

I have 8' ceilings and installed 3" crown molding pretty much everywhere and think it enhances the look of the rooms. I did it all using the technique in this YouTube video (ignore techniques until the 1:50 mark)

I really dislike wainscoting that high on the wall and IMO with all the trim on the windows you do not have space for crown and FYI that house really does not suit all the traditional trim . I also do not understand if crown was in the plan then the kitchen should have been designed for crown that was planned for the rest of the hous e

Interesting choice of comments Patricia. Maybe you should just respect that others may not have the same style preferences that you have.
Please go back and review my original request. I don’t recall ever asking for your “FYI”, your “IMO” or whether or not you felt that the house is suited to trim.
