Beautiful, Oursteelers. What a lovely fall flush!

I wish our morning had been foggy, instead it is very smokey here. My day off from work and I'm stuck inside 😭 our AQI started around 150 this morning and now we're in the hazardous purple zone....up in the 300s. I'm not ready for the garden to go to sleep for winter but we really need the rain to end fire season.

I would love some rain!

Magpie I got MoL from A Reverance for Roses a couple of years ago

My love & peace rose has the biggest flush (5)! It hasn't had much sun for a month or so (my balcony gets sun only in summer). Great fragrance too.

Getgoing - really? Love & Peace blooms have great fragrance? I've always heard there wasn't much fragrance so I didn't want to buy one, even though they're supposed to be great bloomers. Yours is doing well with lots of pretty blooms!

Oursteelers - we got rain today...quite heavy rainfall. Our grass will love it...it's been so dry here. Lovely blooms!! Mrs. Cant, Nahema, MoL and Emma Hamilton are my faves. :)

@getgoing100_7b_nj Love and Peace is looking fabulous! I'm amazed at all the beautiful flowering plants you have on your balcony, I remember seeing them on another thread... You definitely are giving them excellent care!

Yay, Oursteelers! We didn't get rain yet but the winds changed and our air is clear at the moment. A good morning to all.

Rosecanadian, the fragrance isn't particularly strong. You have to take your nose there. Also, it is not consistent - I am not sure if it is the time of the day, temperature or humidity that makes the fragrance stronger at sometimes but not others. I think the roses have maximum fragrance right after a rain when there is a lot of humidity. I will keep a mental note to see which factors affect fragrance.

Seasiderooftop, thank you for the encoragement. I am partial to showy flowering plants. They are such a joy, more than the herbs, veggies and foliage ones imho.

rosecanadian, I just went out and sniffed and they are fragrant right now but weren't earlier today. Maybe it is temperature. It's 70 now and 41% humidity. I agree on going for the most fragrant ones as a sort of insurance policy that they turn out fragrant
