Don't get a rug with backing at all. Use a good quality underpad I like felt and no issue.

So many of the rugs I"m seeing come with a synthetic latex backing. I can't afford to spend 2500 per rug as I need two large rugs. I'm wanting to know if PB fixed the issue. Any idea? (and yes, I'm well aware of the value of wool, hand-knotted rugs as I have only had this type, but I am in need of two 9x12 rugs and they have priced me out)

Are these rugs going to be placed on a wood floor? If so, do not put latex on wood floors. They will permanently mark the floor.

I got 2 large rugs from Amazon very affordable no latex backing . You need to have a pad anywhay so as I said. The company they were from is called Rug Branch

Jacqui is right! Latex backings nearly ruined my hardwood. I buy felt pads like this one to put under my rugs now:
