A shelf over the TV? Or Fix your two top drawers so that you can put your equipment inside. You would need glass doors instead of drawer fronts and a solid shelf inside to set your equipment on. Or hang your TV on the wall and put your equipment on top of the dresser.

You can buy a tv mount that comes with a shelf underneath for the cable box. I bought one for my husbands office from Sams. It has a black glass shelf and looks nice on the wall. Here's one that holds two components but you can get a single.
