Reply to BETH. About the doors and the 'Boob light'.

The boob light im thinking I could deal with after I have decided on the decor.

Now ALL those doors. Do remain close, except for the double closet doors stay open when the children/husband leave open. That is the big closet with coats and shoes.

The door facing directly the entrance door is an elevator that stays close most of the time.

Stair are to the RIGHT of the wall, where im thinking of putting cabinet or console.

The door next to double door closet is my husband entrance from the garage when he gets home.

Start with fresh paint. Install a new doorbell (the wire and the tinkerbell).

I don't see black and white, unless you make a reason for your choice.

I suggest you paint the walls in the tone of the floor, doors black, then I can see black in the scheme.

My Door, and condo is red brick color so thats why I thought black would look best. I also want to keep the colors cool tone, and neutral.

Reply to BEVERLYFLA: Thats a cool tool you have there. Really gives me a whole new perspective. But I wont paint the doors. I will touch up the color to a more clear and bring white or color to match the floor better. I am leaning to bringter lighter color.

Put a shallow console or 3-drawer dresser opposite the front door, and hang a great piece of art right above it--something that's really attention-getting right as you walk in the door. Then put in a runner that picks up some of the same colors as the painting/art. Lastly, get a beautiful light fixture for the ceiling. I'd go with a semi-flushmount instead of a full flushmount.

The doors don't have to be painted charcoal. A Greige color to complement your floors would work also.

Since you have so many doors and everything is white, painting the doors the griege color (to coordinate w/your floor tile) would look a lot better. consider doing the baseboards too.

Okay, now I am seeing my space in a whole new way. I did not notice before the floor color and doors/ wall color... but now I can't unsee it. The light fixture I will definately update. Love the suggestions.

1. Painting the doors a griege color to match miore the floor. 2. Touching up the walls. 3.Updating ceiling light fixture. All these things are a good start. I will be doing these things the next week or two.

this light fixture is the Bergamot. comes in diff sizes and finishes. I have it in my hallway w/3 led bulbs

If you don't need a ton of light, try the single bulb but do an LED 100 watt (which is less wattage)

or look at other options

If the doors are wood, use a good wood trim paint like Advance in a semi gloss or satin

But let me back track a bit... With all that I said about painting doors griege... Now that I think about it. I still have a dilema with painting the doors to match floor. I was planing on putting a runner that would cover that griege color on the floor. Now why would I want to bring it up to the doors, where its going to be an unavoidable color in whatever I do. I was actually trying to avoid it by placing a big runner rug. Now if I paint the the walls or door I can't ignore the color. I want to complement my door and the outside brick of the condo. So black and white seemed to go nicely with red.

Also, have to clarity that i cannot make big changes (light fixture are okay, painting okay) because this is a leased condo. Here for hopefully not more than two years.. I should have mention from the gecko. sorry. Nice piece of furniture and rug with some decor on the walls is mostly what I am after. Why not the black rugs? does it not go well with door and brick? here is my door.

you'd paint the interior doors the same color (doesn't have to be the griege color) , bring in a runner w/some colors to coordinate, and then your console.

if you want a black console, do something like this thats open so you can bring in some textures and neutral shades w/the baskets/vases, maybe a gold mirror
