I like the fixture. I'm worried about the narrow table under it. Have you thought about putting it over the island?

Love the fixture. Usually you want the fixture to be about 2/3 the table length. But the table looks small for the space. Also beef up your window panels. They should be 2 1/2 times the width of the window to not look skimpy

Hi Vicki. Thank you for your comment. I am a little concerned about that too but am thinking of hanging it closer to the ceiling. I made that table, so I don't want to replace it. We chose not to put pendants over the island because it would obstruct the view of the living room and TV.

Too many shapes going on...my opinion: that's not a place for an accent wall, so I would paint it the wall color, in a gloss finish. Change the draperies to the same neutral color and don't skimp on the fabric. Before you buy a pendant, invest in a new table and chairs. No more linear.

@jck910 The table is 60" long and the light is 29" in diameter. We don't have a larger table b/c we don't want to block the door to the backyard or walkway to the mudroom/garage.

I have the Capiz pendant in the 22.5" size hanging over my master bathroom tub! You might want to consider that size, so the pendant doesn't become this huge opaque sphere that dominates the space.

It also only has one bulb, so if you actually need real light in that corner, this isn't the right fixture. I would be less worried about this if you also had some recessed lights in that area, but I don't see any in the photo.

I think that light fixture would be stunning next to your dark wall. It might be oversized but personally I love the look of oversized chandeliers. You could make it look more balanced by replacing your chairs with heftier ones or bulking the current ones up somehow. The table looks amazing. Did you make the chairs also?

Truth? Rip that trim off the navy accent wall - paint as the rest of your walls. Competes with arch exit next to it : (

Take the curtain panels down, or add three more pair. Way too "stringy" and same in the other pic. It's a thing that you can't really skimp on for a good look

Buy a nice BIG !!! colorful piece of art, or three of something related

Want navy? Try it on new dining chairs....? Stools?

Last? Before anything? Counter depth fridge, pendants over island, and a simple linear related light over table.

I would pay to watch you clean it! The shape/design of the fixture doesn't work with the "style" of your accent wall. Reminds me of a pairing of the fat lady and the tall man at the circus side show! I'd rather see that kind of fixture in a more public area like the foyer or a dining room that is away from kitchen grease. I see all those facets and think "gunk!"

Thank you @chispa. I was looking at the smaller size too, but wasn't sure if that would look too small. I don't want it to overpower the accent wall. It's such a difficult decision to make when you've never seen it in person. I really appreciate the input.

It’s a lovely chandelier, but given your table’s shape, size and style, I’d look at a linear shape.

Thank you, @ilikefriday I like an oversized pendant too, and thought it would look great against the wall. Clearly, others disagree and that's fine. I didn't make the chairs, but I did build the feature wall and have no plans of ripping it down or repainting it.

If its possible I would double up you curtain panels because of the room height and bold wall the curtains do not have enough fullness. to the light on a whole. I love the light, I dont love it with the table or the wall. Why, the table is shrinking to its surroundings, a rug would help that. also you do want the wall to be the star, so the light should be part of the puzzle but not outshine it.

While the light is not my taste, I think I like it in your space ( which is lovely by the way).

I think the fact that you have 10 foot ceilings help, but I am not sure if it is too big. I think the ideas of trying paper lanterns might help figure that out--------and also- what is the size of the fixture you have there currently?

That may help put it in perspective.

@RL Relocation LLC thanks for the suggestions. I actually have the light on the left in my dining room. And, while I love the idea of a rug underneath the table, it's just not ideal when my kids still can't seem to find their mouths. :)

The pendant in the larger size will be lovely against that wall and over your table. Frankly, your room already looks better than most of those posted here as ”better” alternatives. Order it and try it— that long table and angular feature wall need the softening of a curved light. Trust your instincts and watch out for pirahnas, the water is full of them.

I actually have that exact light fixture in my bedroom. I love it! Oversized is almost always good!

Just noting that many respondents are unnecessarily rude. OP states that she's looking for a pendant, give opinions or suggestions about the pendant. Not "buy a new table and chairs". That's so disrespectful to the OP.

I think the pendant looks too big. If the table was bigger you could accommodate a big pendant. The scale of your furniture dose not match the scale of the light you want.

Steph, I don't really have an opinion about your light, but I love that you made your own dining table and accent wall. Very impressive.
