Is the front door the one across from the opening or the one on the wall perpendicular to the opening? Can you draw a floorplan on graph paper that shows the windows and doors, and which rooms the doors lead to? Do you need space for a TV in this room? How many people do you need to be able to seat every day, and do you have any existing furniture you're hoping to use here, or are you buying new?

I like your wall color and floors. Are you planning on replacing the fan?

HI! Yes - The fan was the first thing replaced. I kept a fan style but changed it to a matte black style fan. A TV is currently on the wall but I'm not stuck on it. This is a rough sketch below.

I'll be buying new furniture - It's just my husband and I and we have a sun room we use when company comes over so this will be more of a formal/sitting room since it's so close to the kitchen.

This layout should work for your space.

Select a sofa and two lounge chairs for the seating.

Place a round end table in the corner with a table lamp

Select a round or square coffee table for the area and place

all on an area rug.

The wall opposite the seating area can receive wall hung bookcase

to display objects and books

The area to the right of the entrance should receive a console table with mirr above to act as your foyer area.

Are you looking to have a TV in the space? If so, we might recommend placing a TV over console to the right of the front door. You could also decide to place the TV to the left of the arch. Depending on where you place the TV, that would define how the rest of your furniture would be placed. We think if the TV is to the right of the door, you could potentially do a set up like in the first image. If the TV will be to the left of the arch, you might consider doing something like in the second image.
