I am not sure what you are asking but IMO that huge dated entertainment center cabinet is the first thing to go. Can you post a to scale floor plan of the whole room include windows doorways where the doorways lead . All measurements clearly marked and also info as to how many seats you need and is this the only room where you can have a TV? I truly think if that monster cabinet is gone then the whole room takes on a different feel.

I'm not sure I understand your question. But moving the TV to the niche where your fish tank is seems like a good idea. It would allow you to make a cohesive sitting area built around the TV and the fireplace.

It looks like a long narrow room, which is tricky. Can you give us a 2-D drawing with room dimensions? Include wall lengths, window and doorway positions and widths, and furniture dimensions. Label each doorway with the name of the room or space it leads to. It would also be hepful to know which furniture items you are definitely keeping, and which ones you could part with or replace.

The layout is not working, nor is the rug over the wall to wall carpet

Unless you're willing to physically change something, I wouldn't worry about it. It actually looks like a very pleasant space to me.

Kristy, since September you have posted 6 times on the same room. Each post shows different angles, so any advice given on one post probably won't apply to any other posts.

If you had stuck to one post, added all the photos, at least we all would know what is what. I find it very frustrating when I spend time trying to answer a dilemma to discover there are multiple posts.

As I said on one post, tone down on all the aqua. It is over powering and I still think the lamp is way too big for the table.

Per current layout, the rug should not stick out past the seating grouping, but is fixed by moving the rug to another room (is not needed), or tucking the rug under front legs of your motion sofa. The short fish tank is awkward next to the tall and overbearing entertainment center, is fixed by moving tank, or balancing the area with oversized canvas art hung over the tank - no more aqua/teal please, for more visual interest add pillows and mantle objects in a second accent color (black, chocolate, light gray, etc). How are you actually using the lone chair, or does it just sit there?

Some layout changes to consider for Fall and Winter

The wall with the entertainment unit is very heavy looking and off balance. Try moving the grandfather clock to where the arched mirror is. Move the aqua rug in front of the fireplace…try that or get rid of it altogether. The aqua pillows and throws don’t work on the brown furniture. Try neutral pillows and throws.

I am sorry, I don’t mean to be ugly, but the blue/teal rug on the carpet looks a bit like a large bath mat to me……and very polyester-y.

The OP has a far earlier thread, same room, of hand wringing while not listening. She also hasn't the resources to change anything. It's wheel reinvention, especially given the huge entertainment center, which is NOT leaving as there are not the dollars to replace it or re locate much of anything. Sorry........it is truth, or someone won the lottery : ) ? No amount of the teal the op loves, will fix the elephant in the room. Take two aspirin and DON'T call in the morning. It needs surgery. Repeat. Also the bank.

Kristy you have not tried ONE suggestion given to you from all your previous posts. NOT ONE. The room is exactly the same, You keep posting the same exact posts, with the exact same photos but never take one shred of advice. Why are you doing this to us? WHY?

AND you string us along by liking and thanking every single comment like we are supposed to be "Oh joy, Kristy likes me". You bring ridicule upon yourself.

Anyone is free to just ignore her posts if you don’t like her lack of engagement to replies. No need to yell.

@Marie J. when people give up their time and effort to help fellow houzzers out should the OP not consider the time already spent, the ideas, and the help. Its redundant if no changes are made as I would suspect most of us would just be on repeat. Its not the lack of engagement as it is the lack of transparency reposting with out stating nothing is leaving the room, and nothing new can be purchased. and a link to the other thread. Its a two way street and it does get frustrating when you see duplicate posts, especially on topic that has been vastly covered.

One of the first posts started " I would like to know if my decorating is nice. Can't upgrade nothing right now. "

So I think she just needs to hear "Your decorating is nice. Don't change a thing. "

    @KristyMelton

    Ms Melton,

If you have something to say to me? ( voice mail this morning ) You may do so right here, in a comment box.

Everyone has told you the same thing. Over and over. We all wish you had resources. All have told you the entertainment center does not work for THIS space.

Everyone, for every one of the threads begun from at least the third thread? Has spent time typing suggestions you ignore. Only to be asked to reinvent what can not be reinvented.

Do the best you can with what you have, and until you can do more, or are ready to listen? Don't ask what others may think unless you desire a real improvement. That is subjective and informed by what YOU like. If it is teal ,so be it. The big tv unit? So be it.

Do not attack me unless you do so right here,on this thread, versus the cowardly manner of this morning.

Oh my @KristyMelton that is just unacceptable behavior, to contract a contributor directly by phone! This is an online forum, which means all discussion must be made online. Your behavior borders on inappropriate stalking and is not justified. A better way for you to handle your displeasure at people being frustrated with your multiple repetitive posts would be to STOP posting.

I agree with all that….but perhaps Kristy has real problems, health-wise, I mean…I think at this point erasing her posts (or anything from her threads) and ignoring them is probably best. I do wish (maybe there is and I’m not smart enough to figure this out) there were a way to ”sign out” of threads one wishes not to be a part of any longer…some are getting ridiculous with a bunch of personal, silly stuff on this forum…..

@coray if you look at the bottom left of a thread, just above the Houzz footer links, there is tiny green print saying "Click to switch off email notifications about new comments."

@Marie J. You are correct. I apologize for screaming.

Hi. This can be a tough crowd! I generally like the layout. I also have a big entertainment center dominating my living room. I know it is overpowering, but they aren’t easy to sell, plus I love the storage.
I do agree with some that your aqua rug is detracting from the room. The tones would look better if you take that out. Only other comment I have is that I don’t love seeing the back of the recliner. I would get a recliner that is attractive from all angles, or move what you have to a spot where it is less a focal point

Mcarroll16: thank you…i shall try it!

    Mcarroll16: unfortunately I don’t see that anywhere……☹️….not a tech genius😫

Huh. I'm using a PC. If you're using a phone, it might be different. Right under my "Submit" button there's a band of gray screen, then another narrow band of white screen with the "switch off notification" text.

Thanks, partim….I can’t see this in my thread☹️

I'm on a PC. I don't see it on the Houzz app on my android phone either. maybe some IPad or IPhone users can tell you if the capability exists.

I have it on my chromebook (android)

Ladies.........the complaint from the contributing group was the MULTIPLE threads. same exact room and topic. Those pop up as new threads.

Yes the young lady may have issues. Those may need supervision for all we know: ) We only know what is typed. It's the internet and none of us can save the world from chair...or an i phone.
