Small master bathroom design help!

I need help designing this master bathroom. It is very compact and not functional. I am open to moving the laundry to a different room but otherwise cannot come up with any ideas on how to make this a more functional, eye-appeasing space.

Can you provide more information? such as, how many people use this bathroom and the machines? what are the dimensions? what are the surrounding spaces, and where does the door enter from? what don’t you like? what are your goals besides look nicer? and, the big one, what is your budget?

Right now only one person uses this bathroom, but it is the master bathroom, so eventually there will be two. I do have a room on the main floor that I will likely turn in to a combined laundry room/mud room. The dimensions of the space are 10’ x 5.5’. The door enters from the master bedroom. My goals for this space are to make it feel less cramped but also a little more functional. I would like to be able to have a vanity to add some storage and counter space. My budget would be around $6-7,000

What’s behind the curtain? A tub? If space is the highest priority then have a tub shower or just a shower, that should open things up, but the budget might have to be adjusted upward. If you move the stackable out, you should have room for a vanity but the toilet is placed at an odd angle…

I hate to tell you this, but 22 years ago we redid two bathrooms. In one, we didn’t move any plumbing, kept the layout the same, and it was $8000 for new tub, toilet, vanity, toilet, medicine cabinet, tile, solatube, and changed the door to a pocket door. (yeah, yeah, I know, a pocket door to a hall bath? but really, the in-swing door was so awkward and there was no other solution.)

In the other bath, same thing, except we shifted the shower plumbing to make the shower 10” longer, and that one was $10,000. That was in the year 2000. I can only imagine what it would cost now.

If you are thinking of moving plumbing, you might be in for a surprise.

But, if you can move the laundry to that other space, I would move the shower to where the sink and laundry are, and put a vanity where the shower is. If you add stub walls on the shower and vanity, you could put a cabinet above the toilet for lots of storage.

If you want help, you first have to provide a 2D layout showing it as is with everything measured out, You can do this on graph paper.

With that budget about the only thing you'll be able to do is move the W/D downstairs and pay for the hookup.

Post an exact layout of the room, indicating windows, plumbing and doors. You will get better ideas showing the pros a blank floor plan.

What can you provide in terms of skills? Can you demo? Lay tiles? Do you need room for two sinks or is one okay? Are you wanting a glass shower? Cost of shower walls is pretty expensive.

Your budget is tight for a bathroom remodel - even a small one.

If you move the laundry, it looks like you’ll have enough space for a long vanity along that whole wall.
