I would just do a deeper red than what you have on your front door now, but if it gets a lot of sun maybe it fades quickly? Did what you have start out darker? Black to go with your shutters is an option too.

I don't know why the deck would have to match the door. If the deck is on the back of the house no one can see both of them at the same time, plus matching those two just isn't necessary. I would paint the deck a color similar to what you have now, but more brown, less red.

Thanks. I had been thinking of a brown stain for the front door, to look like wood. And I had been thinking gray for deck. But I wasn't sure if that would look weird. But you are right, you can't see both at the same time. Thanks for your advice!
