Looking on HMF,I get the impression that posters are less than enthusiastic about this rose in heat; the general consensus seems to be that in heat its' bloom period is brief and the colour may be spoiled. Here in Italy, I've had this rose for some time, but it was in a very bad spot; I moved it, because at least one year I found the colour quite beautiful. But the climate here has been ruined by heat and drought; any more the extreme heat arrives much earlier in the year than it used to. This is the reason that I've lost interest in roses that begin to bloom late in the season; I'm even suspicious of once-bloomers; it's fine if they have their flowering early in the season ,but if they only start flowering in June I doubt that they's be great for y garden.

The fact is that I decided to put a wisteria in William Lobb's "new" spot, and so dug it up yesterday,thinking to move it again. But now I'm starting to wonder if it might not be just as well to chuck this rose. As I said, I don't really want a late-blooming rose,and only got it in the first place for it's colour, but here I read on HMF that someone in the Netherlands finds it less than great in heat, and that its' colour is reduced to a pretty common-place pink when it's hot. What's more, none of the photos of it on HMF show a plant that is being grown in a Med climate, as far as I can see.

I'd love to hear any and all thoughts and opinions about this rose,especially if any of you who are in a hot,dry climate have experience with it. Thanks in advance!
