Frame it with something that will match the decor. Possibly a rich wood or maybe a porcelain ivory.

Yes tpf, the room is very basic right now I need lots of accessories n a coffee table.

now that i see your room, I'd leave the clock as it. it is simple and chic. you do have a lot of warm tans and browns though, so it would be fun to paint the number gold, with the gold leaf paint they sell at art and craft stores- just not too bright a gold!

something like the darker stripes in your wallpaper

To modernize the clock, I would remove most of the numbers and leave 12,3,6 and 9. Align 3 and 9 vertically.

I would paint the whole thing the same color as the "darker" color in the stripes. Leave the hands the metal color. Me thinks anything else would look very busy on your striped wallpaper over the fireplace.

Do you have anything else you could hang there also, a collage of 3 pcs (if the clock is too small over the fireplace by itself)
