Without seeing your space, it sounds like your dining room isn't really "a large expanse." It might be possible to break up the floor with interesting furniture and/or colorful upholstered dining chairs. It might also help to make the room feel larger to omit the rug. When I replaced the carpet in my dining room with LVP, it seemed to silly to put a rug down and I do not miss one.

I do agree. While the dining area is not large, it is a nook of windows that is all part of the large open plan kitchen and living space… i think the real problem is that i dont really like the stained concrete ! 😊

I do not like rugs in my DR but in order to answer this we need to see the space and also a floor plan showing all the measurements .

I will do when i clean iff all the baby toys from my grandaughter !
