I just think it's very dark. It's almost black. I do like the color better than Hale Navy, but I would go up two shades to Mineral Alloy. This is ultimately up to you. Why don't you start sampling to get an idea of how it's going to look? Do large samples because whatever color you choose there is going to be a lot of it.

A thought...the roof is prominent. Are you sure you will be happy with blue with the peppercorn windows?

lTo clarify ...the peppercorn is what I have today with the light gray.... not what I would do with the westcott Navy.

With the westcott, I was thinking to look for something similar to this off white trim and a similar roof.

I know it's dark which is why I'm hesitant.... When I've seen navy done well I've really liked it.  It seems like Hale Navy is extremely popular which is actually a little bit darker than wescott from an lrv perspective?

I wouldbe concerend with the dark color fading quickly in the sun .

We painted our previous house and barn BM River Blue. It didn’t fade. I only have a photo of the barn. All trim was ivory.

just a plug for flat paint - there are 3 houses that recently went Navy in our neighborhood - two have a weird slick sheen in certain lights due to the paint and don't look great 🥴

the 3rd is flat navy (with a fabulous coral colored door) and looks very crisp and classic with chunky white trim

A great book for exterior colors is "House Colors: Exterior Color by Style of Architecture Paperback" by Susan Hershman

ETA - considering the stone, I would prefer colors that flow naturally from that surface as opposed to a more high contrast color like Navy (esp considering your roof) but that's just a personal preference thing)

Paint a piece of plywood and put it out the 2nd floor window. It's the only way you will be able to know for sure. I love navy!

Stacey what did you end up doing and how do you like it?

After A LOT of analysis we decided that navy was too likely to fade with as much sun as we get all afternoon .... We ended up with Gossamer Veil for the siding and the trim, and a very dark iron color for the accents.

We are very happy with our choice, however I still love Navy houses and think the Westcott would have been a great choice.

Love how your house came out. I just painted my house Westcott Navy, it is much darker than Hale Navy BTW. It's hard to see the blue until you look for it and in certain light but looks more like a dark gray. We used chantilly lace white trim which is gorgeous and there are a lot of railings etc in the white trim. I am struggling for the door color as I love a look like your door but it's hard to find - I wanted more toward an aqua than a light green. What color is this on your door? Is it more green or blue? thanks,
