Help select wall art

After many months, I've narrowed my wall art selection down to two pieces I think will work in my room. I was hoping to get input from my houzzers. I know artwork is personal, but which do you think will look best? Also, if I go with the less expensive, tree line painting, how would you change the frame to match my room.

    Thank you for your input!

I think the second piece looks best. I would frame it black.

Ac Lb I really like the first piece of art you posted…it has a calm feel and the colors are great in your space.

Julie, thank you for your input. So you think a 30x30 will work in my space? My Buffet table is 60 inches wide. The wall art in number 4 is a 36x36 number one only has 2 options ... 30x30 (which is the Max I'll spend) and a 40x40 which is out of my price range.

I would choose the first picture for 2 reasons other than just the fact that I like it better.

The first picture is balanced, the second is bottom heavy and has way too much dead space over the trees. Center is basically a solid space of white cloud.

Pair the heaviness at the bottom of the second picture with the dark furniture with décor adding interest below the painting and it feels even more unbalanced.

The second is the softness in both the composition and the color palette. The first is soft and has more muted greens and blues The violet blues of the water and the shadows of the trees match perfectly to your carpet. The second the blue of the sky and green in foreground are both too saturated.

Thank you! My actual rug is in the attached picture. Considering replacing it with the rug options already posted.

Still a soft, muted carpet and still better with the first than the second

When I look at your second photo I find myself looking for the blue of the sky somewhere other than the art. It feels out of place.

I think this looks beautiful together…can you tape out the 30x30 with painters tape so you can see that size over the buffet.

Agree with above .Quick question? You switched to a new rug from the pic above? Yes? Have to agree, unless there's something we're not seeing? Better than the new.

Or............you are strongly favoring the other picture with more sky? But then that new ( not the one just above ) rug feels a bit weak and has less feeling of either picture.

Maybe closer/clearer pics of all? Post those?

So I ordered the tree line picture before posting as it sells out fast and is much less expensive than the other painting. However I agree with all of you, the other painting is more beautiful and speaks to me more... for a couple hundred more I guess it should and is worth it.
I used an app to play around with my rugs. I do love the blue one and it's definitely the the direction I'm leaning towards. I'm taking it one step at a time as my husband isn't good with change.
Thank you for all of your input.

I get the resources, the hubby thing as well.. But art seen every day? A couple hundred dollars over even two years is less than 3 cents a day to have the one you REALLY love.

I have owned many of my paintings 30 years or more. Oldest one was a gift from my parents for my 10th birthday - I am now 61. Never regretted paying for something that brought me so many years of joy.

I tried to cancel the tree line order and plan to return it once it arrives. I have been eyeing the other one for months. You all have just convinced me to go for it! Thank you!

The wall art labeled #4 came in and I'll be returning it to target this week. You definitely get what you pay for! The extra 200 dollars will be money well spent!

You found #4 at Target? Is #1 from there also?

@ilikefriday, I wish. I found the other one at Ballard's designs... it's a couple hundred more (w/blk Friday price).

Thank you Julie! I always appreciate your input! I'm also trying to get my husband on board with replacing the fiddle fig tree with an olive tree.
