HVAC--floor vents? or just heat blowing from ceiling?

if only heat from ceiling, does it stay warm enough down below to keep that wood floor from contracting?

    It all depends on the temperature you set for your furnace. And wooden floor do not contract but expand due to excessive heat. From this image the size of the room is not clear so it is not possible to tell whether heating from ceilings will work or not.
