Glue Down or Float? Concrete Slab Above Grade, 1 block from Bay

Hello,

I have received multiple quotes from flooring companies and I am offered different expert opinion on whether to glue down or float our engineered hardwood. Here is are the stats:

- concrete slab

- new construction, built 2018

- ripping up carpet and tile in the kitchen

- 1-2 minute walk from the Bay

- above grade, three steps to walk up to porch

- two young children

- no pets, but maybe a dog one day

I am told floating is safer due to moisture and proximity to water table. Others say glue down is much better, more solid, quieter and is better if the kitchen appliances ever leak.

Thoughts?
