Are there views out any windows? How about a plushy loveseat or pair of armchairs, a sidetable with a lamp, rug, and soft warm throws all angled towards an outside view? And maybe speakers in the ceiling.

This is a better layout for your bedroom with the bed between the two windows. It's done all the time. See examples below.

Did you try the bed on the longest wall? The way those two windows are placed suggests to me that the builder/designer meant for the bed to go on that wall. Then move the desk to the opposite wall and put a dresser on the wall where the desk is now, maybe with a chair if you feel like there is room. You could also leave the desk where it is and put a dresser on the other side. On your first drawing it looks like the windows aren't centered in the room. If this is true then maybe there is a more logical place to put the desk but this would be based solely on your preference. There is no need to buy things you don't need - space isn't bad. I think if you move the bed the room will look more evenly furnished regardless of what else you have in it. If you have the furniture in place, post a picture as sometimes that provides good perspective on how it fills the space in addition to your scale drawing.

Placing the bed between the two windows and the dresser where the bed is on your plan is a better option I think. Access to the closets is difficult with the bedside table right in front of them. There will be less of a pinch point at the foot of the bed if you move it, IMO. It's OK for bedside tables to sit at windows and for the headboard to overlap windows. Drapes can help remedy the look of things on that wall. Then you may have space for a chair and reading lamp in the "SW" corner by the bed.

BeverlyFLADeziner has the exact solution I was going to recommend. see how much larger the room seems?each person has their side of the room with their own closet. It gives both people using the bed a fairly equal distance to the door. in your floorplan one person has a few steps the other has to walk all the way around the bed to lay down. I would always try to place the bed on the longest wall with a view of the door. if you need a desk it can be used as one of the end tables they dont have to match. the second picture she posted has that. you can also use larger low dressers as bedside tables since you have the room

If for some reason you don't want Beverly's plan, then let us know what you might need in this room and how you could fill the space with something useful. Do you need a place to sit and read or have a desk or exercise? Or do you have enough of those options throughout the rest of your home?

This layout reduces the size of the nightstands, but it could also work.
