that fan looks like a dust collecter think about how dirty fan blades get. I often opt for the fan to be either white and blend away or just stick with a simple fan and skip the light if you can.

Are you able to share a floor plan of the home so we are able to see where these rooms are in relation to each other and where if any columns, walls, or obstructions are? It would be extremely helpful and likely illicit many more responses and advice for you.

Rule of thumb for open floor plans is that you do not necesarrily have to be "matchey matchey" with all the light fixtures in these spaces; but all fixtures should flow properly and compliment one another.

They don't have to "match", but there should be a visual connection.

Why a fan in the living room? Unless the ceilings are very high and you want to move the air, there isn't a need for a fan. More info on the room...measurements, as it sounds like you only will have one over head light box...not good.

Dining room area...choose that first...half the width of the table is a perfect size.

Thank you for your reply. My original thoughts were to try and combine a few pieces of dark traditional furniture in with the French Country style. I thought the dark lighting would help pull the color throughout the rooms, but I have no idea what decor to use. 

I would like to add a new chandelier above the table and add two pendant lights above the bar. The T.V. stand is the only piece of furniture I plan to keep for the living room.

I was considering adding cushion tufting to the bar stools (or painting) but they can be completely discarded if new stools would look better? Thoughts??

Can’t see your barstools but perhaps consider something like these for visual interest.

A black finish on your fixtures would be very pretty. You'd be best to do two pendants that are on the smaller side above the kitchen bar. What is the finish of your hardware in the kitchen? It is hard to say in the image you shared - looks to be an oil rubbed bronze or a black.

Are you keeping the dining room table? We ask because if you plan to change or make it larger or do a different shape, it may impact the size of fixture you do. We would also recommend sliding table under chandelier so that chandelier is centered on table. Adding cushions to the barstool may be a nice touch and give you the opportunity to bring a little bit of color into the space. We also recommend a small rug underneath dining table - it will surprise you how much a rug can really bring a room together and also introduce some color. We also agree a fan is not needed in the living room unless you really need to circulate the air in that room. You could do a chandelier in lieu of the fandelier. Here are a few lighting options that could work in a French County style design concept:

I would stay lighter, its going to get too heavy in the room. You will have to change the pendant over the sink too.

Also the "tv stand" is nice but it it really over powering with the tv on it. you might use that as a sidebord or else where...

The kitchen hardware does have an oil-rubbed bronze finish, but I am open to changing them. 

I just purchased the tufted parson chairs for the dining room, but the table is my original oak table that I refinished. I am open to purchasing a new table if the height doesn't fit the chairs. 

I just purchased this Chris loves Julia rug in ivory for both the dining room and the living room, but the dining room rug is on back-order for 10 weeks.
