Honeywell for sure.

Nest gives us plenty of service calls and I despise them.

I and family members have had nest thermostats and smoke detectors since the first generations and have never had any significant issues. i would get one again if it broke. i dont consider my self tech savvy or needing the latest gadgets, i just wanted something to help save costs and the local electric company also provided a good rebate. i have never used nor know anyone that had a honeywell or ecobee thermostat so cant speak to that.

Ive also been using nest since they came out and have never had a singke issue. Have not had to do any service calls out of the ordinary that i have not had to do with any other thermostat on the planet.

CR tested two Google Nest thermostats. It rated the Google Nest Thermostat G4CVZ very low and far inferior to the Google Nest Learning Thermostat. Among Honeywell thermostats, the Honeywell Home T9 is a good choice (I have its sibling the T10 Pro). Both support additional sensors; I programmed the thermostat (on the first floor) to control the temperature based on its built-in sensor during the day and to control the temperature based on a remote sensor -- installed in a bedroom (on the second floor) -- at night.
