You have indeed done a lot of work (for someone with torn rotator cuff!!) I know those are going to be lush like your other beds. The pansies are so colorful. Mine look puny this year.

That is a lot a work - especially to have added 30 more daylilies! The pansies are so pretty! I used to grow them over the winter, but haven't done so in the past five years. I've been too busy in the fall to fool with them. I moved out 58 daylilies this fall, planted 80 seedlings and four new daylilies.

How are your shoulder and your knee doing now?

Thank you for looking and commenting Kate and Debra. It was a lot of work, and I actually cracked the knee in the process of moving those stones to edge the bed...I picked up one of them caught my ankle in a vine and fell landing on the knee. The knee and the shoulder are now pain free. The knee healed although it required a using a cane for a while and the shoulder was injected under ultrasound for a wonderful relief after six months of pain.

Debra, I hadn't grown pansies for a couple of years either but wanted their colors for the duller landscape and also after renewing the Puppy Garden. My son brought the flat of the brighter ones for me and I have enjoyed them even though a lot. I am also planted some daises and the like to add color along with the daylilies next year. I can't wait for bloom season even though I know it is sleep season since it is first year but it is a promise of things to come.

I will be able to see across all of the area with the bush gone,,,right front, then puppy garden then Munson bed then iris row...It should be fun to see it.

Thank you Nancy. You are right. I believe Mantis said he had torn his too and it was six months of misery. I am so enjoying feeling well for a change.

Wow Kay, that is a lot of work to do even without the injuries!!!! It looks good.

I'm going for PT starting the new year for my rotator cuff but my dr. doesn't think it is actually torn, just mild pain in certain positions. I will also be having PT for my lower back disks to strenghten the muscles mainly [I think]. I already do exercises for leg strenth for my torn meniscus which hasn't bothered me lately, thank God.

Thank you Brad. Even though Mine was torn, since I didn't go early, surgery was out but it has done very well after the injection in October. I will admit I continued to work since there was a lot to do.

Juila, we have had very mild weather even approaching 80 a about a week ago but that is over as is now on again. We had some cold weather in October, enough to cause the dormant plants to give up for the year, Unfortunately, this last unusually warm month has caused them to begin putting up new shoots in time for the crushing cold coming for Christmas to knock them down again. Weather in the south is like that, Once this cold spell if over, we will rebound to normal temps which is mid 50s for this time of year. Hopefully it won;t bring tornadoes with it,

I can't believe all those lush daylilies at this time of year. Especially when we are headed to 4 degrees with strong wind. I opted for conservative treatment of the rotator cuff, as people (physical therapy acquaintance) said that my pain was not debilitating and my range of motion not really affected. Definitely torn though.

Mantis, today we are in the freezs and will be for three days so a lot of the liliues should give up now. But with 60s next week they will try to send up fans again. Alabama winter is annoying that way.

I too went conservative although it has been extremely painful, it had been too long without surgery for a good outcome. Mine is doing pretty well now.
