would privet, Ligustrum not have decussative foliage, like every second pair at a different/90 degree angle?

the actual size of the shrub would help

I agree with Ligustrum. There are many species including those with small leaves. The branching habit and foliage are not those of Lonicera pileata.

Thanks to all who replied. Just skimming the extensive Wikipedia pages on privet I can see that it's one smartass plant. In my little patch of urban meadow, it's in good company.

It's invasive in the mid Atlantic region, which is why it spontaneously appears freakin' everywhere. Please kill it.
