I would think a shallow-but-tall dresser chest would be more important than a skinny desk in a bedroom. Even if the occupant is a guest, whoever sleeps there needs a dresser.

I don't have many clothes and my closet has enough space for me a dresser would serve me no purpose my only requirements for the room are a desk and a bed

a desk is a must tbh I'd rather get a long skinny one under the window(40-60"L 15-20"W) but if that proves impossible I could get one at the foot of the bed.

not a walk-in closet but I have enough room for my belongings.

as for the dark furniture I'd really rather not go with white but I could get a light wood tone.

I am 19 male I tried making do with the loft I currently have, and a loft would probably be the best solution for this space but it's too much hassle and I simply cant comfortably live in this room that way

I think you have come up with the best most usable way to set your room up. I had a tall "ladder up to bed" once with a couch under, it was a small space and I thought it would be great but as usual something that does dual duty usually does neither thing well. It was a total pain to have a bed up so high.

So I agree with you on twin bed. How about one with drawers under to give you some storage but still a bed you can make and get into and out of easier. I would pick one with a head board in case you want to float the bed away from the wall, it will keep your pillows from falling off.

Then for the desk I would get a manual crank standing/ sitting frame and make your own desk top from a board you can stain it any color you like. Then you can sit at it like normal or crank it up and stand which gives you options for comfort with working. Also you can crank it up and slide the desk chair all the way under so when you are not using the desk you have more room to walk in the tight space. It appears with a 24inch deep desk and a 39 inch wide bed you would have 25 inches for the chair and walkway between bed and desk.. not a lot but doable if it is just you.

My desk chair sits at 22 inches deep when I am sitting in it at the desk, not a lot of room.... you could cut down the desk board depth to 22 inches and give yourself a couple more inches to move around.

I think I would want the desk to be at least 4 feet wide for one monitor and writing space. 5' for two monitors etc...my desk is 6' wide and 24 inches deep. I have 3 monitors and writing/ creating space.

I think some nice light gray metal legs with a light wood stain top and a gray or wood bed frame would look great. I use cup hooks and zip ties screwed in under my desk for cord management and it keeps things fairly neat even with multiple screens and computers, lamps, peripherals...etc..

If this doubles as an office and guest room, then a skinny desk is fine. If not, remove the desk and keep the floor space clear for guests to put a luggage rack.

i am currently not home but here's what I could scrape together

    ignore the mess please lol

    window is a decent size

twin bed would probably be to the end of the storage box and I'll get a lower profile chair

thankyou, tbh I was still a little hesitant with this layout but your comment eased my heart. yeah I was thinking of either getting a storage bed or something like below so it doesn't feel so cramped when I'm on my chair

and maybe possibly getting a small dresser at the foot of the bed, as you can see in the photos the front end of the room seems quite empty.

the window sill and trim is about 2 inches off the wall. so I could get a sit/stand but I'd have to move the desk 2 inches away from the wall to adjust height which I guess is fine. I like the idea of a light gray if I get a storage bed I'll probably go with this colour. as for the desk I'll either get a 4' one or a 6' one centered under the window. the window is about 6' so I think that'd look the best.
