Annual loss of the oldest fronds is normal...in Bora Bora our entertainment one day was watching the crew climb and prune each tree...we got bored of that pretty fast....lol

So with better pix... hopefully we can tell if this is normal....

I wonder if the was some house staging plant from a florist...that the prior owner couldn't have grown if they wanted to???

Honestly Christmas palms are terrible house plants unless you can provide a substantial amount of humidity, (or else they get crown rot which is why they cant be grown in california) also keep in mind those are actually 3 (2 now?) separate palms all competing for resources which is OK in a in ground situation, in a pot not so much. If you want a indoor palm that needs little to no humidity Id look into Howea forsteriana.
