I read a bit about the nanoglass seems like a good choice IMO a lot better than fake plastic stone . I still prefer real stone

It is hard to see any differences in the white/ textire texture, so i tried taking a pic from another angle. Top is calico white quartz, middle is aleanza white quartz, bottom is nanoglass.

You can see better in this pic how the nanoglass has more shine/ is refelctive, than the aleanza white quartz which is more matte. the calico white is also matte, but the subtle variararion gives it a little more detail.

Thank you Patricia. I too prefer natural stone, but i am a bit apprehensive about doing real Thassos marble in this bathroom- being itnis is primarily used by 2 teen daighters and guests. With my daughters, I can forsee the drops of toothpaste, face wash, creams etc dropped and forgotten until I find it. I would do the marble honed and sealed, but i am apprehensive about it. Which is what led me to these 2 materials. Due to design elements on the bathroom ( statement wall of glass tile and marbeling design on floor tiles) I need a simple and clean looking countertop; nothing heavily veined , or busy.

This is the first I've heard of them, but in looking at their website, it looks like they make the slabs out of recycled material, which is good. What's bad is that they don't say how much of the material is reused. If you want an eco-friendly recycled glass top, I'd also take a look at IceStone, which I believe is made in Brooklyn, NY.

Cosentino out of Spain makes both Silestone and Dekton solid surfaces, and their manufacturing process is one of the most sustainable out there. I just put their Silestone Ethereal Dusk in my master bathroom and it looks fantastic. I don't have great pictures of it right now, but you can see what the slab looks like here:

I used the sueded finish but it also comes in polished.

Thanks Sabrina . I am not necessarily looking for eco friendly ( although that is a nice feature to know it has). I will look into ice stone , as ive never heard of them either , and i am also in NY.

I had never heard of glass countertops until fabricator sugested it, as I wasnt really coming around to quartz. But, seeing I need a subtle quiet counter, and im apprehensive about marble, I reconsidered the 2 quartz i showed. Im not overly thrilled with them, but would settle on one of them. I do like the look of glass better, than the quartz, but I have not heard about it or knowledgable about its usage. Good to know you used something similar.

Marionette, thank you for the suggestion, but the glass wall tiles are actually a mix of light blue/ gray/white. They dont photograph well at all to get a true visual of the color. That quartzite is pretty, but I wouldnt want it for this project. I would like the blue tiles to be the statment. im looking for simple/ quiet quiet.

Will keep that suggestion of quartzite for a different project though- very pretty.

Thank you for the good siggesrion about white zeus. I actually had a sample of it as a solid white choice, but in my bathroom, it was the slightest touch warmer than the aleanza thassos quartz. Gave off the barest touch of pink ( see the pic- zeus is on the left snd aleanza is on the right )

Because of the slight color difference, I chose the aleanza white as the solid white option for quartz and calico white as subtle textured option for quartz. Then the fabricator suggested the nanoglass, which is my third option , but a different material that I dont know about or know of anyone personally that has it. Not much to find about it on here either from anyone that has it for feedback either about experience with it.

nanoglass now not only have super white color, it also have marblized vein of all color. we move the natural marble vein into nanoglass body. nanoglass also named as stoneglass, it have both feature of stone and glass, and can use for all.

Would nanoglass be appropriate for a large kitchen island, in your opinion, @Diana Bier Interiors, LLC? It looks interesting and I am trying to decide between quartizite (my true love) and a quartz option. How would you compare it pricewise to natural stone? TIA

I don't see why it wouldn't be appropriate for an island. A friend of mine has it on her perimeter counter tops.

As far as price, I'm not sure--my client dealt directly with the stone yard/fabricator so I didn't get involved in pricing. Perhaps you can find a local fabricator and they can quote you a price. Keep in mind if it's plain white, there's no matching of veins or anything so that makes it easier and uses less material.
