I need pics. I do not like towel bars usually unless they are heated ones mounted on the wall next to the shower. BTW the drawing honestly makes no sense . I need to see the space usually I like towels handy to when I get out of the shower and I do not like doing holes in glass shower walls if that can be avoided . I aslo do not like built in benches or niches .I love towel hooks , in my experience no one ever folds the towel for the bar.

Agree with Patricia- I have two simple black hooks on the wall next two the shower for my husband's and my towel. Do you have an image of the bathroom layout?

Do you have room on the wall next to the shower door for a towel bar or hook? IMO that would be better than having one on your shower door. The pull on a shower door is frequently a "u" shape. I put a towel through the "u" before I get in the shower so it is easily accessible when I get out. I'm sure some people prefer towel bars and some prefer hooks, so see if you can work your preference into your room. Can you show us the whole room, either in pictures or on a drawing?

Thank you for your comment . I added the bench and grab bars in the shower because my husband and I are well into our 70’s so I’m being practical . I will need one hook imbedded on the glass shower door and I agree that I would rather keep the shower door free from hooks so I’m wondering if the “robe hook “ will detract from the look and whether I can skip it .

Longer shower door pulls/handles can also be placed horizontally and be used as towel bars. We have double glass doors into our shower and placed the handles horizontally. This is where we put the towels while showering. We have another set of towel bars on a wall, where the towels are normally kept.

We have no idea about what look so pst a least the plan for the room and the drawings you should have for the space . Why do you need any hooks through the door I am in my late 70s still climb in and out of the tub everynight there are grab bars so far have not needed them. So skip the robe hook in theshower door and add that to the wall . We ahve our robes on hooks right next to the towels .

I do like having a robe hook in my bath but it can be on the back of the door or anywhere, I don't need it to be accessible from the shower. I also like a towel bar that can hold 2 folded towels (beause it just looks neater) over a heat source for quicker drying in my master bath. I prefer hooks in a guest or family bath (also over a heat source) because kids and guest don't usualy fold towels after using. give each kid their own hook I have 4 in my guest bath never had kids.

I can do that . I will have one towel hook on the shower door and add the robe hook to the wall . Thank you all for your thoughtful comments !

I am getting my glass shower walls/door installed this Friday and am planning to use hooks like tgb1 mentioned so that I can use them only when needed (found several on Amazon). I also have a towel bar next to the shower but with the door swing it will be more convenient to use the hook. Good luck!
