This appears to be the same as Showpiece Lipstick on HMF

Anyone hear anything about these new varieities? I’ll be looking out for them at my local Monrovia retailer.

Ben and Dave, Edwards in Boise is carrying 5 gal Bubbly. I'm not sure about the Berry rose. I like the looks of Bubbly, but the name is odd. Diane

Too bad about the pre-order. I do notice that Monrovia overall has many more plants available for pre-order this year, but the prices are at a premium , more than even standard Monrovia nursery prices. Blush looks nice on HMF.

Lucky you, you’ll have to report back on how Bubbly looks in bloom. I like Berry best, but I’m just window shopping, too many roses to place already . But I love to look at new varieties.

@Diane Brakefield - How lucky! Yes, Bubbly is a dumb name - they should just call it champagne instead trying to be extra creative at giving something a name because that rarely goes well. I would try this one if I were able to.

@BenT (NorCal 9B Sunset 14) - I know, I shouldn’t be looking at additional roses either but it is fun to see what is coming down the pipeline. Speaking of, have you also seen Monrovia’s new climbing roses? They are apparently a couple of Meilland roses (surpised Star is not releasing them) - Heavenly Ascent Pink and Heavenly Ascent Red, not to be confused with ARE’s Heavenly Ascent. I can’t find any additional information on them outside of Monrovia’s site. I checked with my (fairly) local garden center on the pink one a couple of weeks ago but haven’t heard back whether they’ll be able to order it from their Monrovia grower.

Please forgive me for going off track... I am not happy to hear that the name "Heavenly Ascent" is being re-used as I have infinite respect for Mike Shoup of the Antique Rose Emporium and his work... I asked my local [independently owned] Monrovia retailer if they can special order these, but was told if I am not able to do "buy online" then they won't be able to get them either. :(
