This is my second kitchen with Taj Mahal quartzite and also no issues. Look up the Geology threads by karin_MT for some basic tests that you can do before you purchase a slab. In general people have issues with some "white" quartzites and even some "white" granites.

Real quartzite and real engineered stone (quartz) do not etch. Quartzite, being harder, is less likely to scratch than granite. The sintereds (porcelain) are difficult to scratch, but the required mitered edges are sharp and prone to chip. If it cracks, it's toast.

Taj Mahal is actually the stone we are looking at. i just dont want to make the investment jf we will ruin it. thank u so much for your replies

IMO granite is and never will be a poor choice at least you are wise enough to want real stone and I have many clients with Taj and not one issue quartzite is really a tough stone.

That stone is beautiful and my #1 choice. I just want to make sure i dont spend all that money and have it stained.
