Thanks for posting. Yes, the scale and style is a touch off. If I lived there, I would think 'larger and chunky', but yet blending in with the more modern glam. Darker like your cabinetry, if possible. Larger scaled candles. The battery /remote round large pillar ones... at least three Try moving the rug from the vanity in front of the tub, or like Patricia mentioned above, get a long fluffy (shaggy chenille bathroom /amazon... 36- 44" or so to balance the tub size) white rug/mat for added texture and is larger/longer than the mat in front of the shower. Think BIG. There is a lot of sleek shiny and flat surfaces at present, so different and heavier textures will help. Perhaps a wide and long shelf (pulling in the color of the cabinets) within easy reach from the tub under the window for the candles and tub supplies/ shell décor to go on... and perhaps a towel holder or two on the other wall to the right for towels just for the tub, or if that is not an option, roll up three bath towels and put them in a tall textured 'laundry' basket of sorts, next to the tub...add a few more larger scaled greenery to fill up the space. ( On the floor next to the tub by the door, but only if the towels get hung from a rack/ hooks.) The greenery already there could be paired together for more impact and a few more larger ones (faux if believable) purchased.

If all of that isn't in the budget, try spray painting the brass tray table metal to black or chrome or just not having anything set there in front of the tub at all for now.

Tray that extends across tub would be better, Amazon has quite a few. Art on side wall by tub would also help.

Agree that the scale is off for the large sculptural tub, makes the tray look undersized and fussy– something chunkier would work better - texture would be great with all the tile - like wood, rattan etc

I'd remove the rugs in front of the sinks and instead have one bathmat right out of the shower, and then have a large rug/bathmatt by the tub. Those are the two places where you walk out with wet feet with the danger of slipping. Area by the sinks tends to stay dry.

It also looks sad because you have so many blank walls. Some art would liven up the place. Maybe a nicely framed print, since you don't want art work in there that can get damaged by moisture.

If you're someone who can take care of plants, a shelf with some plants could also be added on, since you have enough light in there.

@theresaandwalt, beautiful tub, and I think what you are visually feeling but don’t have words for is that the tub and vanities feel like “sturdy, solid” pieces so they are making the glass and brass X legs tray feel “flimsy and unstable” and out of place in comparison, plus the bright brass looks harsh with the vanity hardware. You may also be realizing the tray is floating in the room as if it is drifting away from the tub. I prefer a long runner in front of that style tub and a tray board across the tub. If you opt for a stool, it should go on the right side of the tub where the wall is deeper and can anchor the stool in place. Your makeup counter does not need a rug. Rather than traditional bath mats, look for real rugs like washable ruggables.

Thank you for the great feedback. Here’s what I’ve come up with. I had the big wooden candlesticks. I’m looking for a rug and artwork and possibly a tub tray. Is the table too big?

Great start! MUCH better color (darker) and scale. I would put the candles perhaps on the back side opposite corner, (safely not to burn something) not next to the towels/ robes. (Knowing me, I would bump those over reaching for the robes) The table is much better scaled to the space, but that basket is still... not fitting in. Maybe it is what is in there. Do you have white towels... or some other color than blue ones there? Three or so, rolled up, without the bath salt bags? (I love that brand of salts... but keep mine under the sink. ) Can the shells be placed on the vanity area? Very nice, but again, I wouldn't want them to go flying off somewhere if bumped into. Keep playing with what you have in the house ~

Less is more; it just feels staged and actually the chandelier, which should be the star, is overwhelmed.

Put a large piece of art on the bigger wall at the head of the tub. Agree the little side table is a bit too delicate for the scale of the tub.

Agree with others that less is more. No candlesticks and no table. Just art on the wall adjacent to door way, a bath mat (match the shower mat) and a tray.

You seem to want to wall off the lovely tub with items that hide it! Make the tub the star of the room
