In search of inspiration. Slowly furnishing new house and have rearranged almost every day 😉

1-tv area doesn’t have seating on one side. Moved rug towards windows so it’s not sticking out in walkway to bedrooms. Weird? Would you put an L sectional facing windows and tv?

2- there is a large space between the tv area and sunroom area. It is also a walkway between the bedrooms and kitchen. I have ottomans to show how a round table would perhaps feel in the space. Thinking I could move coffee table books there?

3-I like a calm space with neutrals and want to add more color in kitchen. Ideas for what to paint base of island butcher block? Also looking for a bakers rack that doesn’t look cheap. Every antique I’ve found has scrollwork and ivy emebllishments. Looking for something modern but not flimsy.

4-there are two walls that are currently dead spaces. 1 has bench and books and the other is a holding space for plants and mirror. Ideas for how to fill this out and look useable? I am not a huge fan of shelving to display decorative objects.

5- the sunroom has four boxy chairs and a temporary square ottoman that I’d like to swap out for something round. Suggestions?

I don't have too many suggestions but I wanted to post and let you know that I think your house is lovely.

Have you considered a commercial-type rack for the kitchen since, as you said, bakers' racks can be ornate?

I like your wicker ottoman in the sitting area, I think a larger round one with similar material would be a good fit.

Do you use the light-colored bench with the cushions next to the fireplace often? That corner seems a little crowded. If not, I would move the plant over and find another spot for the bench.

For the book bench spot, I'd hang a large piece of art or decorative object or the mirror and find another spot for the bench.

Take that daybed looking thing away fro the side of the FP and the rest is awesome except IMO you need more lighting at different levels

Very nice home! My thoughts:

I would not put a table between the sunroom and living area, especially since it is a walkway.

I agree a large round table/ottoman with the 4 sunroom chairs.

Agree the daybed is not working next to the fireplace, unless there is a specific purpose for it?

Replace the bench that has books with a large piece of art.

If you hang the mirror in the sunroom, a small cabinet or bar cabinet below it.

Regarding the island question, if you intended to post a picture of the kitchen, it did not post.

The daybed area is actually my favorite place since it gets amazing sunlight. The current temporary setup is just 2 mattresses stacked.

Crate and Barrel have backer’s racks. They are black with marble.

With your decor style, I would find an Asian daybed instead of the mattresses! You would need to have a custom cushion made as they aren't a standard size.

I adore your sense of style and think these spaces look great. The daybed area is super awkward looking. What kind of daybed do you intend to put there? I think it looks half-way part of the fireplace seating area and half-way it's own thing and I want it to be one or the other. What about a chaise that is angled out a tad bit with a tiny end table next to it and two small pieces of something on the wall above the daybed? The plant also seems off kilter there.

I don't understand where the bakers rack would go and what you want to put on it. You already have quite a bit of open storage in that kitchen and I think something with doors might be better so not everything is on display.

Leave the bookbench as a bookbench, it could have nothing above it on the wall or something intentional. But there is a lot happening in this room and I think it is fine to have a place for the eye to rest and to have a bench with nothing on the wall above it.

The area with the daybed looks like it needs to be altered. You might consider switching the plant and the daybed to help it look better. We also think you might redo the wall with the mirror just standing against the wall by adding a console under it and hanging it. Then adding a large piece of artwork over the bench with what looks like books on it.
